Here's the lunch order.

Sushi, large, small if they haven't got it, but, two boxes.Crisps: salt and vinegar. Squares or Kettle chips, otherwise normal ones. Tomato snaps are good but not with sushi.
Dubber will have the same, but no crisps and a Diet Coke.
If they don't have that, get bagels, even though they're hard to butter unless you use a radial motion.

Any questions?

Jez rocks the mic at Pecha Kucha Birmingham Vol.1

I'm not sure if we can put this on the main work blog as he's got a potty mouth. On the night I described him as a "demented beat poet" - this is nearly as cool online as it was on the night. For more info on this see the grown up work blog

UB40: The 30th Anniversary of "Signing Off" Documentary

Treehouse radio whiz Sam Coley presents the 30th anniversary of "Signing Off" by UB40.

This documentary, hosted by Ranking Roger from "The Beat", was produced by Birmingham City University to celebrate UB40's landmark debut and the band's nationwide tour to promote its re-release.

It features fresh interviews with members of the band - along with Chrissie Hynde of the Pretenders and producer Bob Lamb - amongst others. The documentary explores life in Birmingham in the early eighties 80's and reveals the band's strong polictial beliefs.

UB40 went on to become one of the world's biggest reggae acts - but their debut album "Signing Off" still stands as one of their most influential releases. This 45 minute documentary pays tribute to the band while showcasing hits and remixes from the album - and detailing the story behind its recording - 30 years ago...

Produced by Sam Coley, Steve Thornton & Chris Williams

The Treehouse

The Treehouse is the name we've given to the shared office of the Centre for Media and Cultural Research on the 4th Floor of Baker Building at Birmingham City University.

This website reflects the casual, fun, collegiate and collaborative aspects of the working environment. We have a serious and practical website too. It's called Interactive Cultures.
